Philippine Prosthodontic Society

The Philippine Prosthodontic Society had its modest starting path back 1979 upon the start of the PDA President. The initially meeting was held in a little eatery along Ermita, the Cheers eatery, with the accompanying individuals in participation Dr. Rufino Achacoso and Dr. Primo Gonzales from the private part, +Dr. Rodolfo Lamug from the AFP and from the school segment: Drs. Virgilio Alcazaren (+) UE; Nestor Perez, UP, Patricio Pongol (+), NU, Gaudencio Paguia, MCU,: Jose Alvarez, CEU. From its underlying meeting, Live-in classes were then begun, with Los Banos as its first Venue.

In 1991, The PPS began its first International Live-in Seminar in Hong Kong started by the late Dr. Enrico Belen. As far back as then, the PPS has dependably started the Live-in workshops on both International Venues and Local Venues up to the present.

In 1992, the Philippine Prosthodontic Society was perceived as a Philippine element by the granting of its Certificate of Registration by the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission.

One of the outstanding accomplishments in later times was in the year 2007, where the PPS, started by its President – Dr. Balbino Villanueva, required a Prosthodontics Summit of All Prosthodontics Heads and Professors of every single Dental School and colleges with an end goal to Standardize and Update the showing substance of the Academe. It was an exceptionally effective Prosthodontics Summit in which the gathering delivered a Prosthodontic Principle format for the diverse academes in the Philippines.

We, the Filipino dental practitioners who dedicatedly professing the discipline of Prosthodontic, engaged in the clinical practice and teaching of Prosthodontics, equipped with full knowledge, necessary skills, and useful training, unite and congregate to establish this organization, the PPS New Philippine Prosthodontic Society. We endeavor to exemplify excellence, competence, and commitment in maintaining and enriching our professional expertise through continuing education, training, and skill enhancement. We also commit to contribute to the growth and constant improvement of the dental curriculum in the field of Prosthodontics. As a socially responsible institution and in the spirit of public service and volunteerism, we further lend ourselves to extend our Prosthodontic services to the underprivileged sectors of the society by engaging in different socio-civic action programs aimed at providing multidisciplinary oral health care. For the advancement of such purposes, we impose upon ourselves these obligations to secure to ourselves and our posterity the blessing of an excellent and world-class standard of the practice of Prosthodontics in the Philippines.
